The 8th Grade Class of 2022 Promotion Ceremony was held this morning in the Don Freeman Gymnasium. This class has persevered amidst uncertainty and rose above all challenges. Thank you to our phenomenal guest speaker Lecia Rives. Her uplifting and energetic message to block out the haters and be somebody resonated with everyone in attendance. We also thank Dr, Reinking, School Board Vice President Mrs. Gardner, parents, teachers, staff, and all of the students of MJHS for attending the ceremony and making it memorable for the 8th graders. Today, the 8th grade class of 2022 had a walk down memory lane and set goals for their future. The students opened and read the letters they wrote to themselves back in 5th grade, then each student wrote a letter to their future class of 2026 graduating senior self. The students all enjoyed reading the letters from the past and also writing letters to their future selves.
Promotion Ceremony Dates: PreK - May 25, Kindergarten (May 31) and Fifth Grade (June 1) Each promotion 9:00am and end at 10:15am. We will only allow 2 parents per student to each promotion. Looking forward to seeing you!
Madison Jr High School 6th and 7th grade students attended SIUE's Education Day last week. The day started with a tour of SIUE's beautiful campus. Then the students were engaged in hands-on activities and discussions in Stem/Engineering, Athletic Leadership, Diveristy, Equity and Inclusion, as well as Nutrition and Sports Performance. The students even had the opportunity to meet Eddie the SIUE Cougar mascot.

Congratulations to the Madison Junior High Girls Track Team members on their awesome showing at state. Breanna Kelly placed 4th in the 100 meter run and the 4 x 100 relay team Montasia Travis, Sheridyn Griggs, Kamyiah White and Breanna Kelly took 1st place!!! Ladies, we are so proud of you!!!!
Eye thrive, a mobile eye clinic serviced Madison Junior & Senior High School Students on Wednesday. It was a great success. Students were able to walk off the RV with brand new classes; allowing them to see better!!!! Enjoy the pictures of our students rocking their new glasses.
Today was the 2022 Madison Senior High Senior Luncheon. We are so proud of all of the hard work of our seniors. Many of which walked away with awards and even some scholarship money!!!

2022 Madison Senior High School Prom is today, May 6th at Regency Center in O'Fallon Illinois from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Prom Send Off at Madison Senior High School is from 4:30-6:00. Families are invited, but ONLY STUDENTS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING.

Environmental Health Investigators Summer Research Academy
The SIUE Environmental Health Investigators program provides an opportunity for middle school students to engage in authentic environmental health science research!
June 27 to July 15, 2022 Weekdays from 9AM-2PM SIUE’s Campus
FREE transportation, snacks, lunch, and t-shirts for all participants!
Madison Senior High School Environmental Science students made outdoor curricular connections by participating in laboratory activities including ecology field work at the Litzsinger Road Ecology Center [LREC] in Ladue, MO. Students explored and researched the tallgrass prarie, woodlands, and Deer Creek ecosystems of LREC. Take a look at some pictures of their explorations.

On Thursday, April 28th Madison Senior High school hosted the Spring Bling and Seniors Vs Staff Basketball game!! During the game, students snacked on hamburgers, hotdogs, wings, chips and juice. Thanks to Mr Long and the student volunteers for their hard work feeding everyone.
Each team was coached by a student coach and the game refs were also students. The game was full of many laughs and great plays. After a hard fought battle, the seniors came out victorious by 2 points!!! Congrats to the Seniors and to all who took part in the game.

These young men were selected by the Illinois Science & Technology Coalition to present their STEM project at the 9th Annual Stem Challenge Showcase in Chicago, IL. Reminder: Tomorrow, Thursday, April 27th, Madison Senior High School Students in grades 10 will take their PSAT 10 Test. It is IMPERATIVE that students arrive to school by 8:30 on their testing date, late students CANNOT enter the testing rooms. There will also be NO make-up testing. Thank you for your assistance in assuring your child arrives to school by 8:30.
