Madison Family,
This afternoon the Governor announced schools will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. While we are saddened by this news, Madison School District has established a robust program of remote learning that will continue until the last scheduled day of school, Friday May 22, 2020. Students will continue to receive either online work of learning packets to complete. All completed work should be turned into the Board Office no later than Friday May, 15 to allow time for the work to be graded.
We will continue to deliver meals Monday through Friday beginning at 11:00am. It is hoped we will be able to continue this through the end of the school year. If circumstances arise where this would not be possible we will notify you of any changes.
We know you have concerns about school activities such as graduation and summer school. We have been working on options to address these concerns in case we were out for the remainder of the year. Now that we know for certain we will not be back in regular session this year we will finalize these plans and communicate them out to you and your students.
This is not how any of us wanted to end this school year. We miss seeing your students every day, things are way too quiet in the district.
If you have questions please feel free to contact me either by email, andrew.reinking@madisoncusd12.org or by phone, 618 877-1712 ext 6501.
Stay safe. Madison CUSD #12 is here for you and your students.

Ms. Charlebois' English II Sophomores & Journalism Seniors have spent some of their remote learning time writing thank you letters to essential workers in the healthcare field. Madison CUSD #12 is thankful to those on the front lines fighting the pandemic & keeping us safe.
Parent/Guardian,
As we continue our remote learning we want to thank you for encouraging your student(s) to complete their remote learning assignments. Teachers are continuing to provide updated instruction both online and through learning packets. Learning packets that were not picked up last week for elementary school students will be mailed or dropped off at the address we have on file for the student this week. If you have recently moved, please contact the board office to update your address, 618 877-1712 Ext. 6500.
Learning packets are due to be turned in on Friday, April 24th and then again on Friday, May 15th if we are still out of school. May 15th will be the final day for completed assignments to be turned in. If your students have completed learning packets please give them to the staff who delivers meals to your area. You may also return the packets to the Board Office daily between 9:00am and 12:00pm. These packets will be distributed to your students' teacher(s) and graded. Grades earned during remote learning may help student’s overall grade for the year.

Madison Family,
Today, April 1, is National Census Day. Please take time today to complete your census at,
https://my2020census.gov. By completing the Census you can help our community get our fair share of money from the Federal Government to fund public services, roads and schools. This is your opportunity to make a difference in our community.

Madison Family,
Today the Governor announced that the Stay Home Order and school closings will be extended through April 30th. With the extension of school closings to April 30th we will continue to provide educational services through remote learning. Students will continue to be able to access course material either online or through packets of work.
As this crisis continues, we will continue to provide meals for students. To provide the maximum level of safety for students and families the delivery of meals may need to change in the future. We will keep you updated on and potential changes to the food service program.
While the extension of the Stay Home Order is inconvenient it is intended to reduce the cases of COVID-19 and save lives. Please stay safe and let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
