Dear Parents and Guardians,
Thanks to all the parents, students and staff that made our student led parent teacher conferences a great success! Our conferences embodied the spirit of our vision statement, Together we can be terrific!
Madison Accelerated Middle School is now in it's second year of being recognized as a National Demonstration Site for Accelerated Schools Plus. The National Center for Accelerated Schools Plus recognizes the importance of identifying and awarding schools that have been successful in fully implementing the AS plus model, and have proven to have a direct positive impact on student achievement. The Demonstration Site Award is designed to do just that. We are proud to be recognized as a National Demonstration Site.
Our word of the month is Trustworthy. Your children will be studying this character trait through various lessons in all of their classes his month.

Below you will find some information regarding Transportation and Attendance Please remember that daily attendance as well as arriving to school on time is essential to your child's success in school.
Transportation
Information
Students
must have a Student ID to ride the bus. We are asking you to assist
us by discussing proper bus safety measures and conduct with your
children. Bus drivers are entrusted with the safety of all our
students. Student misbehavior makes the driver’s job much more
difficult. The expectation for all students is that they will
conduct themselves in a manner that will not be disruptive to the
bus driver or other students. Students who fail to adhere to these
rules will be removed from the bus after the second offense for a
period of 3-5 days. We realize that this may inconvenience you, but
we must insist that students respect rules and assist us in
providing a safe bus experience for all students. All students are
required to be at their assigned stops five minutes prior to their
pick up time to ensure that all stops are made on time and students
arrive to school as scheduled.
Attendance
Academic
achievement is greatly improved with punctual, regular school
attendance. Attendance guidelines follow:
1. All students who leave school for a doctor’s appointment must
provide written documentation from their health care provider as
evidence of attending the appointment for the absence to be
considered an excused absence.
2. All students who are absent for five or more consecutive days
must provide written documentation from a healthcare provider for
the absences to be considered excused absences.
3. Any student who has been absent for 10% or more of the days of
student attendance in a semester must provide written documentation
from their health care provider stating the cause of the absence
for each subsequent day of non-attendance for the absence to be
considered an excused absence.
4. Students who suffer from documented chronic or severe acute
health issues may seek a waiver of these requirements from the
building principal.
We look forward to your continued
involvement, support and commitment to your child’s educational
program.
Respectfully,
Rob Miller
